What better way to see Morocco than with a whitewater rafting trip to the Ahansel River in the heart of the Atlas Mountains. You'll have time to sample some of Marrakech and its sights, sounds, souks and vibrance, as well as being able to escape to one of the least known valleys in Morocco for some rafting on Moroccos best river. You'll be fed wonderful food and looked after safely on the river by our team of world class guides, who have amazing knowledge in this remote area. You'll get to raft through spectacular gorges and amazing rapids on the way down this 80 km journey. Come and sample for yourselves one of Morocco's premier adventure activities.

Day 1
You can arrange a flight for arrival into Marrakech at any time today. Our team will collect you from the airport (look for a RAFTING MOROCCO SIGN) and take you to our Riad (Hotel Islane) in the heart of the medina. They'll show you around and we normally meet for a pre-departure meeting on the roof of the Riad to pass out your equipment for the trip, plus answer any questions you might have about the trip. Then it is off either into the main square to check out all the jugglers, acrobats and story tellers or head to one of the many excellent restaurants in town.

Day 2
After breakfast, we'll collect you from our Riad (Hotel Islane) and we'll take the gorgeous drive along the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. En route we'll stop for a cup of traditional mint tea and for our lunch stop, we'll stop at the impressive Cascade D'Ouzoud, Morocco's highest waterfall for a sumptuous lunch of shish kebabs or the traditional tagine, a meat stew with vegetables cooked in a clay pot.
The afternoon sees us drive around Lake Bin El Ouidane, the spectacular lake where the King has a summer residence. We drive over the foothills to the Atlas Mountains to the village of Tiloguite. Take a stroll through the village with the guides and take a visit to the school which we have supported for more than a decade. Relax at our riverside Berber Camp, enjoy wonderful sundowners before dinner and a drink from the bar

Day 3
After a great night sleep beside the river, you'll awaken to the smell of freshly brewed coffee and the team preparing your breakfast. No need to get out of bed, we'll deliver the hot drinks! We issue wetsuits, booties, spray jackets, life jackets and helmets before your Trip Leader gives you a safety talk and paddle instructions. After some land based practise, we set off down river with rapids coming thick and fast from around 2 miles after we put on the river. This river is so much fun with fun and bouncy rapids in high water and narrow gaps to manouvre in low water, you'll enjoy every minute of it. We stop for lunch on the side of the river, or perhaps we may be able to take in a walk up to one of the Casbahs in the area, depending on time. We reach our camp for the evening in time for a drink and a relax at camp before dinner.

Day 4
This morning you have the option of a spectacular hike up to the top of the gorge for spectacular views back to camp. After we leave Mustafa and our crew, we'll paddle through some spectacular gorges out onto the Lake where we are met by our boat which tows us back across the lake whilst we enjoy a filling lunch. Once back at the bus, we'll get changed and we'll drive back to Marrakech and our Riad. It may be possible to go out for a meal tonight as a group in one of the many excellent restaurants in Marrakech! (depending on flight times etc.)

Day 5
You may have free time after breakfast to go and explore this wonderful city (if flight times permit!) Why not explore the souks, take a city tour, go hot air ballooning, or exploit your credit card? Up to you. We'll arrange your transfer back to the airport in good time for your flight home.
